Title: The Reckoning
Series: Silver Blackthorn Trilogy, #1
Author: Kerry Wilkinson
Publication Date: July 1, 2014

One girl. One chance. One destiny.
In the village of Martindale, hundreds of miles north of the new English capital of Windsor, sixteen-year-old Silver Blackthorne takes the Reckoning. This coming-of- age test not only decides her place in society – Elite, Member, Inter or Trog – but also determines that Silver is to become an Offering for King Victor.
But these are uncertain times and no one really knows what happens to the teenagers who disappear into Windsor Castle. Is being an Offering the privilege everyone assumes it to be, or do the walls of the castle have something to hide? Trapped in a maze of ancient corridors, Silver finds herself in a warped world of suspicion where it is difficult to know who to trust and who to fear. The one thing Silver does know is that she must find a way out . . . The heart-stopping first book in a new trilogy by UK author Kerry Wilkinson, Reckoning is the story of one girl's determination to escape the whims of a cruel king, and what she must do to survive against all odds.

This book is one of the books I got from Singapore $50 Book Box Sale. And I can say that I am very happy that I picked up this book because it was really a great!

I really don't know what to expect, except it has a good feed backs from bookstagrammers and bloggers out there. And the minute I started reading, I got hooked and I jut can't seem to make myself stop reading.

First let me tell you how much this book reminds me of the Hunger Games.  It has a mixture of sci-fi, Young Adult and Dystopian genre. It was a little bit odd that I actually find it excitingly similar yet different from Hunger Games and Divergent but way more good and interesting than no other.

The story centered on the event of Reckoning which determines their place and contribution in the society. Boys and Girls are classified into four;  Elite, Member, Inter and Trog .What is very confusing and not properly explained is how the Reckoning really works. The world-building is captivatingly narrated. It has an action-packed scenes and a very likable characters not to mention a very interesting and strong female lead character. Silver Blackthorn is my very much definition of strong heroine. She has this determination and that kind of presence of mind who thinks and plans before she acts.

I stride towards Rush, who doesn't move until I am within a meter or two. He glaces sideways at Pietra, suddenly nervous , as if to ask whats going on. By the time he fixes his attention back to me, it is too late.
.. I step away and watch him rolling on the floor . Aside from his groans , there is silence around the cabin...
Opie is my man, I don't know what Silver saw in Imrin but Opie is definitely my choice. Faith I love her character, aside form Silver, I think Faith is one of the strong female character in this book. I like how she doesn't care if she was a Trog but like it when she stands for herself and for what she thought is not right. Pietra Okay, I really don't know how to explain it but Pietra is exactly an epitome of a person who make a wrong decision in life and honestly regrets it everyday. I still do know where she's coming from, her way might not be right, but I do like her nonethless. Hart, I don't know what to think about him, but I have this nagging feeling that he will have a great part on the next book. I really love to see the Hart before the Reckoning, and I am utterly intrigued on what really happened to him.
...when he left our village, Hart had a distinctive smile with large, well built arms that came from years of helping out with various things around the place.
...now his face is thin, the bones jutting into his cheeks, and there is hollowness around his eyes...

What I also admire with the Author is how he could push his character's limits in a given situation. Some decisions and obstacles are thrown over its characters that makes its readers makes a glimpse of who truly they are and how much they are willing to take for the cause. There are a lot of sacrifices and lives that are lost, but I really admire how every one of them stands up and fight against the King's  viciousness.

This book is also unpredictable. Maybe it also one of the reason why I devour every minute reading it. Everything is so unexpected and I never thought the plot could be this good and exciting. I was caught off guard of how evil, barbaric, vicious, self-centered and gluttonous the king is. Every time he is mentioned I can't explain how afraid I felt for the characters. It feels like I'm also hanging on what craziness he might think of.

...the king continues to approach, passing me and walking around the edge of the table until he is standing next to Wray.
...no body speaks or moves as the king pulls the sword back before thrusting forward..
...I just see Wray's dead, frightened eyes asking for an answer I can't give him..

I finished this book in a matter of time. And I am already so eager to start the next book.

The Score (Off-Campus #3) by Elle Kennedy

He knows how to score, on and off the ice

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

My Most Favorite sequel in the Off-Campus Series!!!!

OmG. I'm swooning, paralyzed and totally in deep shit for falling in love with DEAN! Yes! You got a new fan here Dean! And Yes! Elle Kennedy surely gained another fan reader too!

First, I really can't explain how much this book surpass my love for Garrett, in fact, I think I just committed a crime for being a two-timer. Hahahaha. Dean is much more lovable than Garrett! Anyway, what I really do love about this book is how opposite the 2 characters are. Allie is more of a nester in terms of relationship, while Dean is into all-sex-no-commitment kind of relationship. It was really a challenging thing for the writer to do this, because hell how would you keep the chemistry brewing in those kind of characters right? But hell! It was really good, I love the plot, the characters, the scenarios and the sparkling dialogues in this book! What a fucking chemistry. It definitely hit my top NA romace book right now. So yeah, if you want nice chick-flick kind of read specially during summer, the Off-campus Series should really be on your top list.

Oh! And the ending? I glad I started reading this series before the fourth book comes out. I'm totally ready for Tucker's story!

The Mistake (Off-Campus, #2) by Elle Kennedy

He’s a player in more ways than one…

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.

Oops! Please don't be discouraged on my rating, it may have a 3 stars but I did enjoy this book as far as I'm concern. But compared to the first book (The Deal) the story is kinda' lacks some swoon worthy scenes and sparkling dialogues. But hey there is one that totally knocks me on my feet!

“I need you. I can’t stand the thought of being without you.” He releases a shaky breath. “You’re the last person I think about before I go to sleep, and the first person I think about when I open my eyes in the morning. You’re it for me, baby.”

The characters are likable its just that it didn't surpass the story of Garrett and Hannah. I also didn't quite like the chasing moments between Logan and Grace. But still, this is one of those book that are good and worthy of your time read but doesn't hit you top books billboard. So yes, It is still a fun and enjoyable read. Maybe it just felt a little bit short and in a hurry, but all in all it was still good. And very much recommended. On my way to 3rd Book!!!!

The Deal (Off-Campus #1) by Elle Kennedy

Title: The Deal
Series: Off Campus Series, #1

She's about to make a deal with the college bad boy...

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she's carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush's attention, she'll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice...even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

...and it's going to be oh so good

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he's worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he's all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn't take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn't going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

OMG!!!!!!!! I'm in love with this book! I was hooked from the very first page until the last page!!

I just saw this series as one of the most twitted romance book recommendation, and after a lot of YA fantasy books, I actually felt so tired of reading them I wanted to switch to romance for a while, you know.. too much action and paranormal fiction can totally exhaust you in a lot of ways, specially the cliffhangers. So yeah, I saw this book and the teaser was really good, and I decided to start it right away.

What I only regret is I have been so late with this one, I never thought this book to be this good!! There are a lot of times I find my self swooning, fanning, giggling ang falling in love with the characters. YES! That is how likable and lovable the characters are in this book.

I find Hannah and Garrett's relationship refreshing in fact they are perfect together. I am really glad that this book is not one of those love at first sight kind of book. They started in a relationship with lots of bantering until the time comes they become friends and fell in love. There chemistry between the main character is so contagious. And the dialogues will totally make you swoon over and over again. Also, there is no too much drama in this book, its so light to read and very relaxing, compared to those new NA romance books lately. And really, I appreciate this kind of books more that with heavy drama that I totally can't function and leaves you me sad after. And my FAVORITE scene? OMG! The Locker scene! I really can't help but laugh out load! Seriously? I love her commando style! Its freaking EPIC!!

Okay so one things is for sure, I’ll be reading book 2 in this series NOW!! Maybe that is one of the perks of reading it later than sooner after the release, No waiting time for me.
